Bethesda is situated at the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. It is less than a mile to the longest Zip Wire in Europe, 5 miles away from Tryfan and Llyn Ogwen and 15 miles from Betws y Coed. The cathedral and university city of Bangor is 5 miles away and Holyhead is easily reached via the A55 over the Brittania Bridge for ferry services to Ireland.

The Zip Wire at Penrhyn Quarry near Bethesda opened on the 23 March 2013 and tickets can be booked online through the Zip World website. The main run is 1,750m long and has an approximate speed of 130km/h!
