Ales and Drinks
We have been in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide for several years and stock both local and national brands. Marstons beers and those of Purple Moose from Porthmadog are usually featured on at least one of our three handpulls, along with a selection of ales from other breweries and in particular Cwrw Caradog, named after colourful local poet/novelist Caradog Prichard (1904-1980). It’s produced down the road here in Bethesda by Cwrw Ogwen, a micro brewery which opened in May 2017.
House wines are from the new world and can include merlot, cabernet, (unoaked) chardonnay and/or sauvignon blanc. Pride of place goes to our extensive selection of single malt whiskies, most of them naturally from Scotland but including the fine Welsh Penderyn and Bushmills.
We do not accept credit/debit cards but there are cashpoints 2 minutes’ walk away, in the village.
We have a full size snooker table used by many keen, local players. Snooker plus is played here very often, and billiards occasionally.
Relax with a drink in our beer garden, while you enjoy the splendid view of the river and the Carneddau mountains.
We are no longer a hotel and do not offer any accommodation. However there are a number of guest houses, bunkhouses and other accommodation in Bethesda and in the surrounding area.
